Northampton – West Northampton Council introduced an Additional HMO Licensing Scheme into Northampton on the 1st of February 2020 for a period of five years.
The scheme will impact all HMOs in Northampton and the fee is £1269.00 for each HMO.
All Section 257 HMOs will be covered by this scheme, (buildings converted into self-contained flats where the building is wholly occupied by tenants) anywhere in Northampton.

Under all three schemes floor plans will be required for every room, this can be a sketch drawing including the room measurements and descriptions, no requirement for professionally drawn plans.
Fire Risk Assessments (FRA) will be required under licensing. EMPO provides FRA guides and templates and property inspection templates to their members.
