Selective Licensing in Oadby & Wigston
Oadby and Wigston Borough Council has approved the introduction of a new Selective Licensing scheme covering parts of Wigston and South Wigston. The scheme applies only to private rented houses. It does not apply to owner-occupied properties, housing association homes, or council accommodation. Click here for the full list of streets and areas covered within the scheme.

License Applications
The scheme will officially start on 10 November 2025 and run for five years. However, applications are already open, giving landlords plenty of time to apply and seek guidance from the council’s team if needed.
Discounts for EMPO Members

This reduces the total cost of a:
- Standard application fee from £850 to £750
- Multi-Property application fee from £800 to £700 (per property)
