The Leicester’s Selective Licensing Scheme commenced on the 10th of October 2022 and impacts the following areas Stoneygate (East Cluster); Westcotes, Fosse, Braunstone Park & Rowley Fields (West Cluster); Saffron (South Cluster)

The scheme will impact 9000 properties in these areas. The council will conduct three inspections over the five-year period of the license with the first inspection before issuing a license.
The cost of a license is £1090.00 and EMPO members receive a 10% discount.

For Selective Licensing the Government requires councils to use a set of Prescribed Conditions (contained within the Housing Act 2004.) Councils are not permitted to alter or remove any of these conditions. The conditions relate to and include Gas and Electrical Safety and Tenancy Management etc,
