The Ashfield District Council Selective Licensing Scheme operates in two parts of Sutton in Ashfield, Stanton Hill and Sutton Central. The Scheme commenced on the 25th of July 2022 and is the second scheme to operate in these areas.

The council will conduct two inspections of each licensed property over the five-year period of the license.
The cost of a license is £350.00 and will impact 900 properties.

For Selective Licensing the Government requires councils to use a set of Prescribed Conditions (contained within the Housing Act 2004.) Councils are not permitted to alter or remove any of these conditions. The conditions relate to and include Gas and Electrical Safety and Tenancy Management etc.
