Blaby District Council Landlord Forum – With EMPO & DASH

Blaby District Council is hosting two landlord forums on Tuesday 23 June to provide landlords and letting agents with updates on the forthcoming reforms under the Renters’ Rights Act.

The sessions will cover significant legislative changes affecting the private rented sector, including the proposed abolition of Section 21 “no fault” evictions, measures to prevent rental bidding wars, and increased rights for tenants requesting to keep pets.

The forums will take place at the Blaby District Council Offices, Desford Road, Narborough, with two sessions available:

  • Morning session: 9.30am – 12pm
  • Afternoon session: 1.30pm – 4.30pm

The events are being delivered in partnership with East Midlands Property Owners (EMPO) and Decent and Safe Homes (DASH), with guest speakers including representatives from EMPO, DASH, local letting agent Ashton and Co, and officers from across the Council.

Attendees will receive updates on the proposed tenancy reforms, available landlord support, and wider sector developments. Additional topics include Awaab’s Law and responsibilities around damp and mould, changes to Housing Benefit and Universal Credit, and schemes aimed at encouraging landlord support for homeless households.

Places are limited. To confirm a slot email: tenancy.services@blaby.gov.uk by 15 June.
