EMPO is delighted to be partnering with Bassetlaw District Council to deliver a Joint Landlord and Letting Agent Forum, taking place from 11am to 3pm on Tuesday 27th January at the Ceres Suite, Queen’s Buildings, Potter Street, Worksop (S80 2AH).

This free event is designed to support landlords and letting agents operating in the private rented sector by providing practical guidance, regulatory updates and expert insight into key upcoming changes affecting rental properties.

What to expect:

• Renters’ Rights Act 2025
  Vicki Hextall (EMPO) will outline what landlords need to know about the Renters’ Rights Act 2025, sharing practical hints and tips on how to prepare, navigate the changes and remain compliant.
• Awaab’s Law, Damp & Mould and Fire Safety
  Faye Swanwick, specialist fire risk assessor and damp and mould expert, will explain Awaab’s Law, how landlords can effectively tackle damp and mould issues, and the key takeaways for staying on top of fire regulations and fire safety responsibilities.
• EPC Reforms & MEES Updates
  Gareth Clarke (Talk Green) will discuss proposed changes to energy efficiency standards, EPC reforms and what future MEES requirements could mean for landlords.
• Making Tax Digital for Landlords
  Heather Watson (Arendelle) will provide an overview of Making Tax Digital, explain what landlords need to do to prepare, and highlight why staying on top of landlord administration is more important than ever.

There will also be representatives from Bassetlaw District Council available to answer questions, along with a Q&A session, buffet lunch and refreshments, and plenty of opportunity to network with other local landlords and professionals.
