Ashfield District Council carried out a full public consultation over a period of three months between the 6th May 2016 and 29th July 2016 in relation to the designation of two areas for Selective Licensing.
The Cabinet confirmed the decision to designate two areas for selective licensing on Thursday 22 September 2016 having considered and adopted further recommendations from the Council’s Scrutiny Committee. These areas are Stanton Hill and Sutton in Ashfield.
Selective Licensing comes into effect on the 1st February 2017, and by then landlords should have applied for a licence to the Council. Application forms and Guidance Notes will be available from the 23rdJanuary 2017 on the Council’s website. Ashfield District Council will operate an ‘early bird’ application process until 1st May 2017. The cost for a five year license is £350.00 reduced to £250.00 if you are an accredited landlord or a member of EMPO at the time of applying.
