Delegates choose two from:

1.    Energy in the Home

The workshop will provide an opportunity to discuss future changes and current issues, such as:

•    end of CERT free insulation programmes needing urgent action
•    building regulation proposed changes requiring insulation after notifiable items, such as boiler change
•    The Green Deal
•    condensation and mould growth
•    sharing experiences of landlords with the other delegates

2.    ‘The Nottingham Standard’ – Unified Accreditation Scheme

The workshop will provide a brief outline of the proposed unified scheme followed by discussions regarding landlords’ thoughts on the     scheme, including the potential benefits of being a member.

3.    Welfare Reform - What Does it Mean for the Private Rented Sector?
This workshop will look at the specific implications of changes to the welfare benefits system for Nottingham’s private rented sector. How can the City Council and other agencies work in partnership with landlords to manage these changes and understand how to help the market respond in ways that don’t create negative impacts on both landlords and tenants?
4.    Property Investment - Demand v Supply: Risk and Opportunities for UK Residential Investment

The workshop will contain analysis of the UK market in 2012 to highlight niche opportunities for residential landlords and property investors. Topics covered will include:

•    The key influencers on property values and rental returns in the next eight years
•    What investment strategies are working most effectively in today's market
•    What skill-sets are required to succeed to achieve success
•    Which particular strategies now come with 'wealth warnings' attached
•    Case-studies and analysis comparing growth versus yield strategies and potential return on investment (ROI)
